BERARDINO (DINO) TARONNO It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Berardino (Dino) Taronno, at the Riverview Health Centre, with his family by his side on Thursday, May 1, 2008. Dino will be lovingly remembered by his wife Luciana Taronno, children Tony (Emily), Roberto (girlfriend Emilia) and Marco, grandchildren Nicholas, Stefano, and Massimo, siblings Giovanna (Francesco) Filippa, Michele (Sabia), Mickey (Joanne), numerous nieces and nephews as well as many other family and friends in Italy. Berardino was born in San Giovanni Rotondo, Italy on July 31, 1941 and immigrated to Winnipeg in 1957 where he later met the love of his life, his wife Luciana, and celebrated 36 wonderful years together. Together they were blessed with three beautiful sons whom he cherished with all his heart. Dino loved his wife's homemade cooking and sharing his homemade wine with family and friends. Dino enjoyed watching soccer, especially when his sons, and later grandsons, played. Dino was a fun loving, caring and genuine man. He enjoyed listening to his Italian music, dancing, watching old movies and singing whenever the opportunity arose. He especially loved spending time with his three grandsons, attending their concerts, soccer games and taking them for regular visits to the park. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Rosary Parish, 510 River Ave., on Monday, May 5, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Sam Argenziano presiding. Entombment will follow in Holy Angel Mausoleum, Green Acres Cemetery. Honourary Pallbearers are Marcello Auriti and Tony Prencipe. Pallbearers are Antonio Taronno, Bernie Taronno, George Taronno, Tony Taronno, Dominico Auriti, and Don Taronno. The Taronno family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the care and compassion provided by the 3rd Floor East Wing (Palliative Care Unit) staff of Riverview Health Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dino's memory may be made to the Cancer Care Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave. Rm ON1160, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
