Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHARLES WALTER TAYLOR Peacefully at Deer Lodge Centre, Charlie passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at the age of 95. Charlie is survived by his son Brian (Nina), grandson Kelly (Heather and children Katie and Zak), granddaughter Heather (Jeff), great- grandchildren, Michael and Emily, as well as his brother Les. Charlie was predeceased by his wife Madge and siblings, Ernest, Rose, Ida, Hilda, Art and George. Charlie grew up in Brooklands and served with the Royal Canadian Artillery overseas from 1942 to 1945. Also served in the reserve with the Camerons. Charlie had a competitive nature and was an accomplished bowler throughout his younger years and a loyal Bomber fan. He retired from Continental Can, following which he joined the Corps of Commissionaires for many years. He enjoyed his oil paintings, reading western novels in his spare time and loved playing cards with his grandchildren, which, he adored. Charlie and his beloved wife Madge lived in Charleswood for over 50 years and were solid members of the Charleswood Legion. The family would like to thank the staff at Deer Lodge Centre T4 for making dad's last years peaceful. A memorial service and reception will take place on Thursday, August 21, 2008 at 12:00 p.m. at the Charleswood Legion, 5995 Roblin Blvd. Private interment will take place prior to the service at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
