Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTANLEY JOHN PARRY NOVEMBER 4, 1917 - DECEMBER 2, 2008 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Stanley John Parry, 28 days after celebrating his 91st birthday. Stan was predeceased by his wife and soulmate of 62 years and by his cherished grandson (Saeed). He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his son and family in Canada (David, Jean, Kimberley, Sheldon and Leigh Anne); by his daughter and family in Australia (Susan, Habib, Anisa and Omer); and by relatives and friends in Canada, England and Australia. Stan was born in Manchester, England amid the Great War and served as an air gunner and aircraft mechanic during the Second World War. After the war, he brought his family to Canada where his aviation experience and mechanical aptitude lead him to pursue a career in Aircraft Accident Investigation and Aviation Safety with Transport Canada. Living in the Maritimes, he became interested in sailing. He built a thunderbird sailboat named Myst' and spent countless hours navigating on the waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Stan will be remembered as a thoughtful, gracious gentleman who loved to read books about complex scientific subjects as much as he liked to use his hands to fix anything that needed repairing. In keeping with his wishes, no service is being held. A celebration of his life will be held by family following his final launch by cremation. (Happy Sailing, Dad).
