DOROTHY ELLEN SYMAKA Peacefully, Dorothy Ellen Symaka (nee Martin) passed away on Friday, February 20, 2009. Predeceased by her husband William; parents, Francis Quinton and Elizabeth Dorothy Martin; and sisters, Phyllis Olynick, June Kennedy and Lillian Starrett. Dolly is survived by her daughter Lesley and son Bruce, and her sister Ethel Semeniuk. Dolly lived her entire life in Winnipeg's North End. She loved to travel and she loved gardens. She loved her friends and, most of all, she loved her family. She went on numerous trips with her beloved Nan. More recently, she made many friends at the Adult Day Program at Luther Home. Many thanks to the nurses, aides, doctors and staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for making Dolly's last months as comfortable as possible. Heartfelt thanks to friends and family for their support. A memorial gathering will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg on Friday, February 27 at 3:30 p.m. Interment at Brookside Cemetery at a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Dolly's name to the Winnipeg Humane Society. Dolly will be greatly missed. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
