Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHARRY TATARYN May 1, 1913 - March 4, 2010 Peacefully in the morning hour, Harry passed away at Rosewood Lodge, Stonewall. Surviving Harry are his sons, John Tataryn (Kathleen), Robert Tataryn (Suzanne); grandsons Christopher, Kevin, Jason and Kelly; his sisters-in-law Mary and Irene Tataryn; and his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Magda, brothers Bill, Mike, Fred, and Nick, sister-in-laws Minnie and Doris, and his wife Katherine. Harry was born and lived in Brooklands, Winnipeg where he attended school and worked with his family in the grocery store they owned, along with other jobs in Winnipeg. He moved with the family to a farm in Argyle in 1939. He married Katherine Lucyk in 1948 and continued on his own on the farm. He farmed until 1970 when he ventured into the hotel business for a few years in Winnipeg and Medicine Hat. He later retired to the farm and helped his sons and grandsons until his 90s. He was able to live on his own until December 2008, when he was hospitalized, and was later relocated to the Rosewood Lodge in June of 2009. A memorial service will take place on Thursday, March 11, at 11:00 a.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. Rev Leonard Oracheski will officiate. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rosewood Lodge or a charity of one's choice. The family would like to thank the staff of the Rosewood Lodge for the devoted care, attention and kindness they extended to Harry. MacKenzie Funeral Home Stonewall in care of arrangements.
