Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCRAIG (TINKER) SPENCE TAYLOR October 16, 1946 - March 26, 2010 After a brief battle with cancer, Craig Taylor passed away at the Selkirk General Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was predeceased by infant daughter Diane Lynell, and parents Thomas and Doris Taylor. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Bernice (Adams), son Darren (Charlotte), grandchildren Paige, and Justin (Bucky), sister Betty (Dave) Leronowich, brothers Warren (Gordon), (Shirley) of Calgary, Brian, brother-in-law Wayne (Linda) Adams and nieces and nephews. Craig was born and raised in Selkirk, served in the PPCLI beginning at age 16 until 1969. During this time he served two years in Germany as a paratrooper, in 1970 he returned to school to finish his grade 12 and went on to take his apprenticeship to become a heavy duty diesel mechanic. He was employed with Powell Equipment/Toromont for 32 years. During this time he worked throughout Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario, including moving his family to Ear Falls, Ontario for seven years. Following retirement in 2006, he was employed on a part-time basis with Jones Sand and Gravel. He made many life long friends during his travels. He was always willing to lend a hand to those who needed it. His favourite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren, who he was very proud of. He will be greatly missed. Pallbearers will be Ian Adams, Jason Leronowich, Carson Stefanson, Connor Mowatt, Aaron Goertzen, and Morgan Bear. Honorary pallbearers will be Berry Grant, Doug Novakoski, Jake Goertzen, Dennis Adams, Wayne McRae, John Kalakaylo, Jim Menzies, Danny Klatt, Bill Belsham, Mel Wickens, Ross McBey, Carter Delonnay, Allen Marcinkow, and Dave Jones. Prayers and viewing will be held at the Gilbart Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 30 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 31 at 2:30 p.m. at Christ Church Anglican, 227 McLean Ave., Selkirk. Interment at St. Clements cemetery. Thank you to Dr. Fuchs and all the Nursing staff on the Surgical ward at Selkirk General Hospital for the special care given to Craig during his illness. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at Selkirk General Hospital or to the Manitoba Cancer Society.
