MARGO TALBOT (nee Drachenberg) On April 28, 2010, Margo Talbot, aged 84 years, passed away peacefully at the Poseidon Care Centre. Margo was predeceased by her husband John (Jack) April 2009. She will be sadly missed by their daughters Naomi Talbot in Winnipeg and Laura (Dave) Talbot-Allan in Kingston, Ontario; two grandchildren Colleen (Mark) Collins in Kitchener, Ontario and Glenn Allan in Seattle; and her first great-grandchild Cooper. She is also survived by her sister Alice (Lloyd) Jensen in Winnipeg, her brother-in-law Harley Bob (Ethel) Talbot in Kelowna, BC, as well as a number of nieces and nephews. Margo was originally from the Spearhill area and in her early years moved to Winnipeg. She attended Daniel McIntyre Collegiate, and through determination and talent, she perfected her shorthand and typing skills until she became a Pitman award-winning secretary. Margo's work was very respected and valued and she used her skills and her other attributes for the rest of her life. She soon met the love of her life, her husband Jack. They were married in 1949 and had 60 years of true devotion. Margo was a wonderful wife and mother. When Jack retired in 1981 she returned to the workforce and became the Our Saviour's Church secretary and then the church council's Executive Secretary. She also was president of the Evangelical Lutheran Women, proved herself to be a superb public speaker and worked in conjunction with her daughter Naomi in many church fundraisers. She used all her abilities to serve God and family. Her health declined dramatically over the last number of years; however, this precious soul endured this with strength and peace. Funeral service will be held on Monday, May 3, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 600 Minto Street, with Pastor Nancy Walker officiating. Viewing will be held one-half hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 600 Minto Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3G 2R1. Mother, forever loved and missed you will always be in our hearts. Chapel Lawn 885-9715
