MARY ANN THORARINSON (nee SOPLE) 1913 - 2010 Peacefully, with her loving family by her side, Mary passed away at the Betel Home Foundation, on Sunday, September 26, 2010. Mary was predeceased by her husband Thomas on October 11, 1985; her parents John (1955) and Ann Sople (1955), brothers Tony (1974), Mike (1979) and Stanley (1986). She leaves to cherish her memory her three children Wilbert (Arlene) of Riverton, MB, Violet (Clayton) Riddell of Calgary, AB, Sandra (Oskar) Kjartanson of Castle Guard, BC; 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary worked hard all her life, she always had a beautiful garden. Mary enjoyed sewing knitting and crocheting. She loved going to Bingo, that was her entertainment. She also worked with Thomas as custodians at the Riverton Collegiate for a number of years. She also did cleaning at the Post Office, Sandy Bar Hotel and the Gull Harbour Resort. As per Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at the Riverton Community Cemetery. The family would like express their gratitude to the nurses and staff at Betel Home Foundation for their compassionate care, also to Dr. S.V. Patel for years of care and to Dr. R.C. Patel for the care he gave her at Betel. She will be remembered as a kind and giving person by those who knew her.
