JOAN SWIRSKI (nee POBORSA) Sadly on Saturday, February 26, 2011, Joan Swirski passed away after a sudden illness at Victoria General Hospital at the age of 65 years. Left to mourn Joan's memory is her son Scott; mother Carol Poborsa; sister-in-law Karen; nieces, Jody, Jenna, Kailey; nephew Jayson; and many close friends. She was predeceased by her father Frank; brother Don; partner Randy; and husband Michael. She will be deeply missed, and we are all blessed and thankful that her pain and suffering was brief. Joan was an avid gardener and loved her plants and took great pride in her home and flowers. She was a general office administrator for most of her career at various businesses including Carlings, CJOB, Robindale Enterprises, and Smith Radimer. On Monday, March 7, 2011 Joan's Funeral Service will be held at 10.30 a.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main Street at Manitoba Avenue with Rev. Fr. Art Seaman, presider. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan's memory can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or a charity of your choice.
