ROSANNE SYLVESTRE Surrounded by friends and family, Rosanne Sylvestre passed away in peace and serenity Friday, July 8, 2011 at the age of 59. Rosanne is survived by her husband, Armand, three children René, Serge (Leslee) and Joëlle (Darcy) along with grandchildren Zander, Dérick and Easton. She also leaves behind brothers and sisters Margaret (Don), Gerry (Laurie), Terry (Emil), Judy (Wayne), Louis, Peter (Karen), Paul, Guy (Nanci), Zeke (Lynn), Carmelle (Dale), Denise (Dale). She is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces and brothers and sisters-in-law. Rosanne is predeceased by her parents Louis and Agnes Chouinard and her mother-in-law Noëlla Sylvestre. She will be dearly missed by her father-in-law, Lucien Sylvestre. Rosanne was a cherished member of her families: The Chouinards, the Sylvestres, and a great many friends who loved and admired her. Born in Wawota, SK, on September 17, 1951, Rosanne was raised in Gravelbourg, SK, where she and Armand became high school sweethearts. After school, they moved to Winnipeg where they both studied education at the University of Manitoba. They raised their family in St. Adolphe, near Winnipeg, and Rosanne taught for most of her 35 year career at schools in the Winnipeg area. From 1991 to 1993, she and Armand taught the children of Canadian military personnel in Lahr, Germany. During those two years, the young family created dear lifelong memories with travels across Europe. Rosanne became a passionate specialist dealing with autistic children before retiring from her teaching job at Ryerson School in 2008. She continued to work. Most recently, she helped the town of St. Adolphe deal with spring flooding. Semi-retirement did offer Rosanne a bit more time for her creative side. An avid painter, sculptor, quilter and scrapbooker, Rosanne revelled in pointing out the hundred colours of a setting sun while sipping a cup of tea on the back deck. In life and even in her final moments, Rosanne eased the suffering of those around her with humour and grace. A celebration of Rosanne's life will be held at the St. Adolphe Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, July 13 at 11:00 a.m. Rosanne's family would like to thank staff of the M.I.C.U. and RR6 units of the Health Sciences Centre, led by Dr. Ong, for their care, compassion and sensitivity. Donations in Rosanne's name can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 982-7550
