KATHERINE (KAY) THOMPSON (nee KRAWETZ) With great sadness and fond memories we announce the passing of our Mom, Baba and Great Baba on July 11, 2011 at the Lions Prairie Manor, Portage. Mom was born on February 18, 1919 to John and Eva (Turko) Krawetz in the Alonsa Area. Mom married John Thompson on October 5, 1940. They lived in the Glencairn area, Kelwood, Amaranth, Alonsa and Portage. Mom will be missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter Eleanor (Len) Kopytko, sons; Leonard (Phyllis), Mark (Cathy), daughter-in-law Linda, grandchildren Chontaille (Tyson), Tiffanee (Mike), Jason (Diane), Janelle (Robb), Jonathon, Tonya, Stephanie, Jodie (Dany), Adam, great-grandchildren Bethany, Avery, Cody, Sean, Megan, and Nicholas. Also surviving is her sister-in-law Elsie Krawetz and many nieces and nephews. Prayers will be held in the chapel of the Omega Funeral Home on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be held in the Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church on Friday, July 15, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Eric Giddins officiating. Interment will take place in the family plot at Sunville Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Thank you to the staff of Skyview ward at the Lions Prairie Manor for the care and compassion provided to Mom and our family during her stay. Should friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Lions Prairie Manor Foundation Inc., 24 9th St. S.E., Portage la Prairie, MB, R1N 3V4 or a charity of your choice. A tribute DVD in memory of Kay will be produced by the Omega Funeral Home.
