PEARL LUCILLE MASKELL Peacefully and quietly, Pearl Lucille Maskell passed away on December l, 2011 at the age of 83 years. She was predeceased by her husband Bill; sister Marguerite (John); brothers, Ed (Margaret) and Earl (Margaret); and her son-in-law Jerry. Left to cherish her memory are her son Bill (Carolyn); daughter Anne; six grandchildren, Christa (Damon), Jason, Darryl (Christina), Gerrit (Laura), Alana (Scott), Andrea (Dave); stepgrandchildren, Tanys, Kristin and Aaron; five great-grandchildren, Kayla, Courtney, Haleigh, Sabrina and Marcus, and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Pearl was born December 31, 1927 in Old Pinawa and married Bill Maskell in 1948. She worked for the T. Eaton Company for a number of years, with the Medical Records Department at Winnipeg General Hospital and lastly as Secretary for the Department of Psychiatry, retiring in 1985. Pearl spent many hours enjoying time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Everyone was special to her and her heart overflowed with love for them all. Wintering in Arizona and a long awaited Panama Cruise were highlights of Mom (and Dad's) retirement time, but most of Pearl's contentment came from simple pleasures: family gatherings, time at the lake boating and being with family, spirited card games, supporting, helping and caring for all those around her. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Nicole Mercier and the staff at Park Manor Lodge for their kindness and care. They are truly angels here on earth. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society.
