SISTER ADELE MOUSSEAU, S.N.J.M. Peacefully on Thursday, December 1, 2011, Sister Adèle Mousseau, passed away at Deer Lodge Centre. Prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 6 at Résidence Despins, 151 Despins Street with funeral service to be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 7 also at Résidence Despins. SISTER ADELE MOUSSEAU, SNJM (Sister Albert-de-Marie) Sister Adèle Mousseau died peacefully on Thursday, December 1, 2011, at Deer Lodge Centre, Winnipeg, Manitoba. She leaves to mourn her passing, her sisters Noëlla (André Martel), Yvette, and Patricia St-Vincent; her brothers, Domina, Guy (Hélène), and Jean; many nieces and nephews; as well as the members of her religious family, the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary. Adèle, daughter of Albert Mousseau and Marie Arnould, was born in Somerset, Manitoba, on August 26, 1923. She was the third in a family of eleven children. Adèle began her studies at St. Charles Convent and pursued them at St. Joseph's Academy in St. Boniface. She entered the Novitiate of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary in Outremont, Quebec, on July 24, 1944, and professed her vows on August 22, 1946. Upon her return to Manitoba in 1946, Sister Adèle devoted herself tirelessly to teaching students from grade one to eight during twenty-two years in our parochial and public schools. After having obtained a license in Practical Nursing in 1969, she made good use of her acquired skills in the excellent caring for the sisters of her congregation and the residents at Tuxedo Villa. In 1988, Sister Adèle answered a new apostolic call, teaching English as a second language to senior immigrants at White Flower House. Adèle will be remembered by many as a loving, generous and caring person. She had a great sense of wonder; she appreciated newness and just loved family and community gatherings. She kept a very close contact with all her relatives. Her greatest pleasure was to give. During the course of the year, she was hospitalized at St. Boniface and then at Deer Lodge Center until her death. A prayer vigil will be held at 151 Despins St., St. Boniface on Tuesday, December 6 at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at the same place on Wednesday, December 7 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery, Archibald St., St. Boniface.
