EUGENIA (GENIE) MARION ANDERSON After a long and hard fought battle with mixed connecting tissue disease resulting in lung fibrosis and pulmonary hypertension, Eugenia passed away on December 5, 2011. Gene was born on July 13, 1934 in Saskatchewan. She went to Business College and worked in Saskatoon where she met Ron, an RCAF pilot in training. They were married in Winnipeg on August 27, 1955. Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband Ron; children, Scott (Ruth), Cheryl (Pat Carson); grandchildren, Kris (Andrew), Tannis (Mark Robinson), Brock (Kara), Heather and Sandra; and great-grandchildren, Ryan, Damian and Gavin, as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Matt and Lena Syrnyk and sister-in-law Diane Hundley. She was renowned for her smile, warmth and kindness and always put others needs ahead of hers. She loved nothing more than being with her family as they brought her a lot of joy. She was a very compassionate, caring and forgiving person and the heart and soul of her family. Current events were a passion for her and she loved to research topics to get to the truth. She enjoyed her time with the Fred Douglas knit group who filled her last years with friendship, laughter and goodies. Special thanks to her healthcare workers, especially Dr. Bshouty and Lynn, for their compassionate care. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m., Friday, December 16 at Harrow United Church, 955 Mulvey Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations in Eugenia's memory may be made to: the Pulmonary Hypertension Association of Canada, Suite 30, 1311 Howe Street, Vancouver, BC V6Z 2P3.
