Born: May 18, 1925
Date of Passing: Dec 04, 2011
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNA BOGE (Tante Annchen) May 18, 1925 - December 4, 2011 Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path Psalm 119 verse 105. These words guided the life of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother as she went through her life's journey. Born in Russia, she enjoyed a wonderful childhood until the family fled for Germany in 1934. After completing her schooling, she met her husband, Hans Boge, at a church baptismal ceremony and they were married in 1948. Two sons, Jascha and Hans, were born soon after and the family then emigrated to Canada in 1952 settling in Winnipeg, Manitoba. A lovely baby girl, Sigi, followed and her family was complete. She enjoyed running her home, being a mother, and working in the church and neighbourhood, bringing joy into the lives of everyone with her well known smiles and hugs. In 1980, her husband Hans, whom she loved very much, passed away. After a year of mourning, she started a career at Donwood Manor as a health care aide, where she gave comfort and care to the residents for the next 13 years, leaving to take care of her ailing mother. In her later years, she was the prayer warrior in our family, making sure to mention all of us daily in her prayers. She died peacefully with some of her family by her side and was looking forward to being in heaven with her Lord and seeing her husband and family again. Anna was predeceased by her husband Hans W. Boge; her parents, Jakob and Maria Schulz; her siblings, Jakob Schulz, Maria Schulz, Bill Unruh and Cornelius Schulz. Left to cherish her memory are her sister and brother-in-law, Ed and Helen Fast; her sister-in-law Eileen Unruh; her children, Jascha and Hildi Boge, Hans and Lorna Boge, John and Sigi Guenther, 23 grandchildren including spouses, 22 great-grand-children, and many relatives, nephews, nieces and friends. The family would like to express their sincere and heartfelt appreciation to her family physician, and all the physicians and health care workers at both Concordia and St. Boniface General Hospitals. The loving care she received in her final weeks completed her life's journey in a wonderful way. Anna (Tante Annchen) will always be remembered as short in stature but large in caregiving to all those she came in contact with. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at North Kildonan Mennonite Brethren Church, corner of Gateway and Springfield Roads with viewing prior to the service. In her memory, donations may be made to Donwood Manor Personal Care Home.
