Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMAURICE PANCHYSHYN Maurice Panchyshyn died peacefully on December 5, 2011 at the age of 87. Maurice lived for the last couple of years at River East Personal Care facility where he was well cared for by the very professional nurses and staff. Maurice is the last of his generation, having been predeceased by his sisters Ann, Mary and Kay and his brothers Bill, Harry, John and Pete. He is also predeceased by his parents Stephen and Doris and his wife for over 30 years Pat (Patricia Hanvey). Maurice was part of the Hanvey family, Pat's daughter Claire (deceased) and sons Jack and Paul. Maurice lived in Legion Gardens for many years where he became very close friends with Nora Johnson (deceased) and he became part of her family. Maurice worked principally for the Manitoba government. His major life focus was music. He played the trumpet in several bands with his brothers and brother-in-law; most notably the Midnight Revelers and at various Legion functions. Maurice was a member of Legion #9 for many years. In the last while Gloria Harlow-Bibby spent much quality time with Maurice. She was a source of strength and comfort to him. Memorial services will be announced.
