Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELIN REID (nee EINARSSON) Peacefully, on December 10, 2011, Elin Reid (Einarsson), passed away at the Deer Lodge Centre, at the age of 89 years. Elin will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends. She is survived by her sons, Wesley and Colin; her grandchildren, Alyssa, Patricia, Wesley, Andrea, Erica, Carl, Elizabeth and Michael; daughter-in-laws, Darlene, Mona and Gwen; sister, Lauga; and brothers, Harold, Rexie and David. She was predeceased by her husband, Russell; her son, Dean and her siblings, Asta, Stina, Joseph, Dorey and Raymond. Elin was raised in Arborg, Manitoba, in a large loving family. She and Russell were married after Russell's service in the Air Force during the Second World War. They moved to Winnipeg and raised their three sons. In Winnipeg, Elin went to work for Sears where she made many life-long friends. After retiring, Elin and Russell moved to Balmoral, Manitoba, where they built a home that became the gathering place for many family reunions. Elin was known for her artistic ability, devotion to the church, organ playing and primarily for her tremendous support to her family. She tirelessly cared for Russell after he contracted Parkinson's, until his passing. Her past three years were spent at the Deer Lodge Centre and the family wishes to express their appreciation for the kindness and care that they provided. A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 14 at the Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Ave. (across from Brookside Cemetery).
