IRENE JEANNE DE CRUYENAERE (nee DE CUYPERE) Irene passed away peacefully on Friday, December 9, 2011, surrounded by her loving family at St. Boniface Hospital. Born in St. Boniface July 28, 1926, in the home of her parents, Achilles and Jeanne De Cuypere, Irene went on to live a full and happy life. Married to Arthur in 1946, they had eight children, Bob (Sheila), Jeannie Larcombe (Gene), Ken (Ghislaine Giroux), Richard, Judy Turnbull (Daavid), Cindy (Bob), Cheryl Grimstrup (Jorgen) and Ron (Anita). Mom and Dad loved opening their home to people, especially their grandchildren watching them learn to swim in the pool at their riverside property south of St. Adolphe. She was a loving mother who taught us all so much about nature, gardening, camping and her delicious cooking and baking. Irene's many talents helped provide for her family over the years. She also derived great pleasure in maintaining her beautiful gardens, curling and painting. Her artwork continues to brighten the homes of many. Irene was also a talented seamstress, had a great sense of community involvement and had many friends throughout her life. Irene and Arthur retired to Agape Villa in 1997, where they made many new friends and where she continued to be involved with that community. Irene was predeceased by the love of my life Arthur, her husband of 54 years, her parents and her brother George. She leaves to mourn her eight children, 18 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, her sister, Patricia (Glen Horst); brothers Ron and Bert (Adele); many nieces, nephews and a large extended family and many friends. Her faith was her strength throughout her life. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bernadette's Parish, 820 Cottonwood Road. A private family interment will take place at a later date at Green Acres Cemetery. We would like to express our sincere thanks to Dr. T. Wong and the staff of 6E at St. Boniface Hospital for their compassionate care. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of your choice. Goodnight Irene GREEN ACRES Funeral Home and Cemetery (204) 222-3241 Condolences may be sent to: www.greenacresfuneralhome.com
