LENA MATSYK It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our mother Lena Matsyk at Holy Family Nursing home on Sunday, December 11, 2011 at the age of 93. Lena leaves to mourn her passing, her children Glen (Lenore) Matcyk, Sonja (John) Zahariuk, Marlene (Stan) Roznowsky. Her grandchildren, Lisa Matcyk, Tanya (Gino) Demichele, Ken (Christie) Roznowsky, Chris Roznowsky, Michael (Danielle) Matsyk, and Joe (Katherine) Zahariuk, her great-grandchildren Emily, Alexander, Mason, Vayda May, Isabella and Mackenzie Lena, her sisters Stella Matsalla and Pauline Roberts along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Mike in 1985, her son Robert in 1990, and infant daughter Betty in 1953. Special thanks is given for the personal care Mom received from the nurses and staff of St. Pauls ward (Holy Family) during her time there, and to the Sisters at Holy Family, His Grace Michael Bzdel and Father Szadiak for their prayers and spiritual encouragement. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on December 17, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at the Glen Eden Memorial Gardens chapel, 4477 Main. St. Winnipeg, with interment to follow.
