LYNDA ELAINE JOHNSON 1945 !2011 With great sadness we announce the passing of our Sister, Aunty, and Friend Lynda Elaine Johnson, 66, at the Gimli Community Health Centre on Saturday, December 10, 2011. Left to cherish her memory and Spirit, Lynda is survived by her brother Stefan (Diane), children, Kristjon, Stefania; brother Donald (Bonnie) children, Jeff (Lisa), Eric (Tawney), Tracy (Kelly); Aunty Gundy Palson of Gimli and many great-nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her parents Steini and Paula Johnson nee (Palson). Lynda was born on August 10, 1945 and raised in Cypress River, Manitoba. After completing high school she went on to successfully achieving her Nursing Degree in Winnipeg. She started her nursing career in Glenbro and went on to work for the Federal Government in many Northern nursing stations. She finished her Federal Nursing career with many years of service with the Norway House Hospital in 1999. Lynda had many treasured memories and loving friendships in the community. She resided in Gimli and continued her career with Poseidon Care Home in Winnipeg until 2011. Lynda was the most caring and loving person and these attributes shined on her career and all the relationships she cherished. Lynda's career was her life. She would light up the room with her presence and joyful laughter bringing a smile to all. She was truly a blessing to all that knew her. Lynda travelled and her most memorable trip was with her cousins to Iceland where they reunited with family. She enjoyed a good visit and conversation with her friends and family, and she loved her evening rides admiring the beautiful scenery and sunsets. Lynda was loved by family and friends and we all have a special memory of her. Lynda will be deeply missed by all. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Saturday May 12, 2012 in Cypress River, Manitoba. Interment to follow at the Bru Lutheran Cemetery. A special thank you would like to be given to the Gimli RCMP, staff at the Gimli Hospital and Neil Bardal Funeral Centre.
