EILEEN JEAN KYTAYCHUK Eileen Jean Kytaychuk (nee Darowany). It is with a deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our loving mother, wife and baba. She left the world peacefully with family by her side on Monday, December 12, 2011 at the age of 72 years old. Eileen leaves to mourn her husband of 52 years, Steve; her daughter Penny Horeczy (Barry) of Ottawa; her son Darryl Kytaychuk ; her daughter Susan Kytaychuk Stephen (Johnson) and her grandchildren Tyrell, Michael and Kyle; sister- in-law Delores Darowany; along with cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Eileen was predeceased by her parents, Anne and Mike Darowany, and her brother Michael Darowany. Eileen was born in Malonton, Manitoba. She moved to Winnipeg as a young woman and worked at the Eaton's and the post office. Soon after she married her husband and started her family. Her greatest pride and accomplishment was in her role of mother and baba. She will be remembered for her cooking, sewing, painting and the sharing of her Ukrainian culture. Special thanks to Dr. R. Woo, Dr. S. Sikora, Dr. F. Newman and Dr. F. Verrelli for their compassionate care to Eileen over the years. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 16 from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home with prayers at 7:30 p.m. Funeral service will follow on Saturday, December 17 at 10:00 a.m. also at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg.
