JOSEPH MICHAEL SZAJEWSKI With sadness the family of Joseph Michael Szajewski announces his passing. Though we grieve his loss we are grateful for the life he shared with us, and relieved that his pain and suffering is now over. Joe was born on September 11, 1931 at the family homestead in Cromwell, MB. He is survived by his children Trevor (Kelly), Tamara and Todd, his grandchildren Amber, Ethan and Tristan, his siblings Rose, Cecelia, Helen, and Casmir (Mary-Lou), sisters-in-law, Denise Berthin and Pam Menard and brother-in-law Dollard (Margaret) Menard, and many nieces and nephews. Joe was predeceased by our mom Benita (Menard) and parents Michael and Mary Szajewski. Joe spent 42 years in his business, West End Service. Joe was a generous, kind and patient man. They say he had an enlarged heart, and that was certainly true his entire life. The word no was not usually in his vocabulary and he was always there to help those that asked for it. Many people were blessed with his beautiful singing voice at their weddings and he enjoyed singing at parties and around the campfire Sunstroke Beach at Bird River. Dad was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus for 61 years. Dad, you taught us respect, patience and humility. You will live on in the lessons we give our children. We would like to thank Dr. Casis and the Beausejour Hospital for the care and compassion shown to Dad and our family. Prayer Services will be Sunday, December 18, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. and Funeral Mass will be Monday, December 19, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 516 Atlantic Avenue, Beausejour MB with Rev. Fr. Owen Steeves presiding. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
