FRANCES LORRAINE MACKAY (nee DAVIDSON) September 14, 1940 - December 15, 2011 In the early evening of December 15, 2011, our loving mother, Frances (Fran) MacKay, passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital. Born in Winnipeg, Fran leaves to mourn her two children, David and Lorraine MacKay, her brother George Davidson, her former husband George MacKay and two grandchildren Mitchell and Dylan MacKay. Our mother was a selfless and generous woman who always put others' needs above her own, even as she struggled courageously with her hardships. A self-proclaimed old soul , Mom was known for her sharp wit, obvious intelligence, love for animals and limitless ability to laugh. Her unique philosophy of life taught us to balance self-resolve with compassion, and tenacity with grace and class. Heaven will have a dock on the shore of Falcon Lake for you, Mom, with the sound of the waves and the loving touch of Gramma and Grampa Davidson as they welcome you one last time. We are forever grateful to you for filling our lives with love, guidance and support. You will be dearly missed but never forgotten. There is no more pain, now your spirit can soar. The family would like to thank the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital and Seven Oaks Dialysis Unit for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 22 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.mb.ca 885-9715

  • An infectious smile, a great sense of humor and a fun, and loyal friend...these are the traits about Fran that I will always remember as we worked for many years at Investors on Broadway in Winnipeg in the early 60's! We were a closely knit group that became friends... were always there for each others' special occasions, the comraderie, the fun times at Falcon Lake......but mostly I will remember the friendship and will cherish the many memories...we lovingly send our love to Fran's family...we will all sooo miss her - Posted by: Nettie & Paul Pawliw (Friends) on: Dec 23, 2011
