Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELSIE DOROTHEA TURCAN (nee SCHEEL) Peacefully on December 19, 2011, at Riverview Health Centre, Elsie Dorothea Turcan (nee Scheel) passed away at the age of 89 years. Elsie was a dedicated wife and mother who excelled at cooking, canning and baking, to the enjoyment of her friends and family. She also worked several years at the family business, Turc's Upholstering. Over the years she enjoyed summers watching her grandchildren splash in their pool and having them grow up and playing hours of card games or dice. Mom and Dad also enjoyed their winters as snowbirds in Florida. Left to cherish her memory, are her four beloved children: Wayne (Marilyn), Valray (Larry), Gordon (Dawn), Kane (Kathy). She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, Ryan (Sharon), Krista (Kevin), Erinn, Taren (Brian), Lisa (David), Jennifer (Kraig), David (Julie), Kyle and Kevin, and five great-grandchildren: Owen, Abbie, Nathan, Aidan and Cassidy. Elsie is also survived by her dear sister Sue Uiselt and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Michael and Katherine Scheel, her loving husband Edward Turcan, sister Katherine, and brothers Mike and John. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 22 at 2:00 p.m., at Green Acres Funeral Home, with Pastor Schnarr officiating. Viewing one half hour prior to service. Interment will follow in Green Acres Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ryan Turcan, David Turcan, Kyle Turcan, Kevin Turcan, Kevin MacAulay and Kraig Irvine. Memorial donations may be made in Elsie's memory to a charity of choice, or to Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 1541 St. Mary's Road, Winnipeg, MB R2M 3V8.
