THOMAS JAMES (TOM) MCGILLIS With sadness the family of Tom McGillis announces his passing on December 18, 2011. Though we grieve his loss we are grateful for the life he shared with us, and relieved that his pain and suffering is now over. Tom was born October 16, 1953 in Hamilton Ontario. He is survived by his wife Joy Ann; son Justin; grandchildren Aiden and Abby; siblings Cathy Horgan and her husband Paul of Waterloo, Dave and his wife Deb of Burlington, Terry and his wife Patty of Smithville, Sandra Humphrys and her husband Eric, and Karen Boelhouwer and her husband Jason of Burlington; sister-in-law Joy Almgren and brother-in-law Robby Almgren of Kakabeka Falls; brother-in-law John MacDonald of Winnipeg, several nieces, nephews and one great-niece and nephew. Tom was predeceased by his parents Joyce and Pat McGillis. The family would like to thank Dr. Maksymak and Dr. Chowdhry from the Health Sciences Centre CancerCare and Dr. Hartley and the nursing staff at the Grace Hospice for the care and compassion shown to Tom and our family. A service will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 2:00 p.m., at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to CancerCare Manitoba or to the Grace Hospice Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.mb.ca 885-9715
