VIOLET VANITA AAB May 4, 1926 - December 16, 2011 Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 85, Vi passed away on Friday, December 16, 2011, with family by her side. She leaves to mourn her sister Martha Schaefer, brother Edward Aab, brother-in-law Jim Smith, nieces Heather (Ron) Ellis, and Lesley Paton, nephews Don (Cheryl) Aab, and Jim (Patti) Aab, and their families. She was predeceased by her brother Clarence Aab, sister Eleanor (Betty) Smith. Vi was born on May 4, 1926, living the majority of her life in Winnipeg. Vi worked at the City of Winnipeg, after which she enjoyed many years of retirement. She had a passion for golf and spent most of her spare time pursuing the sport here and then later in Arizona. Vi had a true zest for life and lived her dreams, enjoying her condo and her many friends, travelling to Hawaii, Mexico, and then eventually becoming a Snowbird , returning to her second home in Mesa, Arizona every year in the winter. There she made many close and dear friends playing billiards, cards, dancing, and sharing a lot of laughter and great times, looking forward to her return the following winter. Vi was a very caring, generous and compassionate woman with a tremendous spirit which endured to the very end. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family. Cheers Vi to a life well lived. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue (across from Brookside Cemetery), on Friday, December 30 at 3:00 p.m. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE (204) 949 - 2200 nbardal.mb.ca
