CAROLE E. M. JOHNSTON It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Carole Johnston on December 20, 2011 at Victoria General Hospital, eight days following the celebration of her 80th birthday. Left with countless memories to cherish are her nephew Darren (Marlene) and daughter Nicole, nieces Sharron Lee (Neil) and their family; Donna Rae (Paul) and children Quinn and Niah; Kim (Kevin) and son Kenton with whom a unique bond was shared. Along with sister-in-law Susan Johnston, numerous family and dear friends, some who knew her best as Gert. Predeceased by her parents Howard and Winnifred, siblings Howard Chic and David. Carole worked at Canada Packers for 37 years. She was a talented athlete and played on many skilled teams during her earlier years. Her passion for sports expressed as she proudly cheered on her beloved Jets and Bombers. Carole will be fondly remembered as an avid historian, animal lover and truly gifted poet. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 10:00 a.m., at Green Acres Funeral Home, interment to follow. Donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
