SOPHIE LEWKUN (nee SEREDIUK) I've lived a good life. I have had many blessings. But, as all good things do, my time came to an end on December 26, 2011. As the last of 12 children born to John and Mary Serediuk, my time has come to say goodbye. I was known in Gardenton where I grew up, as the baseball player and high jumper. Then one day my life was forever changed when I met my fiddle player Peter, and we were married. We worked hard, and so enjoyed entertaining our many special friends and family. Peter passed and I was named the jack of all trades by my neighbours including Earl, Mary and Joyce (deceased) as I ensured my garden rows were straight and my venetian blinds in the garage were kept in good working order. We hosted, and were part of, many events and shindigs to celebrate with family and friends. My days of shopping and visiting my family made me very happy. As I now leave to join my beloved Peter, I say this last goodbye to all of you until we meet again. I send a special word of appreciation to everyone at Parkview Manor. Thank you for making me feel so comfortable these last few years. I also respectfully and fondly bid farewell to my nephew Ron Serediuk who has been like a son to Peter and me. Vichnaya Pamyat Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 10:00 a.m., at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, with hot roast beef lunch to follow.
