LILLIAN MYRTLE JONES 1922 - 2011 Mom passed away peacefully on December 23, 2011 at the age of 89. She is lovingly remembered by her children David (Linda) of Ottawa, Carol (Brian) Bunston and Sharon Rowland of Winnipeg and Susan (Gerry) O'Neill of Ottawa; grandchildren Glenn and Colin Bunston, Charlene and Devin Rowland and Erin O'Neill; as well as three great-grandchildren. Mom is predeceased by her husband Gordon Prendergast; and sisters Marion and Daisy. Mom was born in Toronto, to Jacob and Caroline (Mogg) Nunn. She started married life in Winnipeg in 1945. While in Toronto during the Second World War, Mom worked as a riveter doing war work. She worked throughout her life at various jobs finishing at Service Canada, retiring in 1987. Mom enjoyed her retirement years gardening at her home on Thompson Drive in St. James before moving to Lions Place where she resided for 13 years. Mom enjoyed travels to many parts of Canada visiting Susan's family, also to San Diego, Hawaii and Germany. She will be remembered for her zest for life, strong opinions and fortitude. Life presented Mom with many challenges and hardships which she met and overcame. Thank you to the staff of West Park Manor who cared for Mom in her last years of life.
