DOUGLAS (DOUG) JOSEPH LABNO It is with deep regret that we announce the sudden death of our dear brother, Douglas Labno on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 in Beausejour, Manitoba at the age of 51 years. Left to forever cherish Doug's memory are his brother and sister-in-law David and Diane Labno of Lockport, Manitoba as well as a multitude of aunts, uncles, extended families and friends that will miss him dearly. He was predeceased by his father Joseph in 1976; beloved mother Wilma in 2006; as well as his best friend Sheba who he lost this past summer. Doug enjoyed many outdoor activities such as hunting and snowmobiling. In his spare time, he enjoyed music, computers and spending time with friends and family. Doug enjoyed the great outdoors so much that he made it his occupation and started his own woodcutting business in 1981 until his heart attack in 2006. Before his passing, Doug had gone back to school to upgrade his computer skills and for the past two years, volunteered on the Beausejour Beautification Committee, helping to make his hometown a gorgeous place to live. Funeral Liturgy will be Celebrated on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 530 Atlantic Ave., Beausejour, MB, with Rev. Fr. Owen Steeves presiding. Interment will follow in St. Mary Roman Catholic Parish Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Terry Buss, Alex Bell, Don Bell, Darrin Lukie, Rodney Strecker and Dwayne Strecker. In lieu of flowers, donations in Doug's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Suite 200, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3L 0K6.
