At 99 years of age, she passed away peacefully at her residence at the Charleswood Care Centre. Teodora was born in Lemery, Batangas, Philippines. The family moved to San Jose, Occidental Mindoro when she was a child and in May 1931 where she met and married Francisco Santiago. In 1973, she immigrated to Canada, living in Kenora with her daughter's family, and later on moving to Winnipeg. Teodora was one of three surviving children born to the late Agrifina and Severino Magsino. She is predeceased by her husband, Francisco and her two sons, Reynaldo and Nofrando. Teodora will forever be remembered by her daughter, Gloria Mena Alcantara, her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, along with countless other family and friends who were blessed to know her. Teodora could put a smile on anyone's face with her warm, welcoming personality and great sense of humour. Those who knew her can fondly remember her sage advice and fantastic home cooking. Teodora's family would like to give special mention and thanks to the wonderful staff at the Charleswood Care Centre, who cared for her for the last three and one half years. Family and friends are invited to attend a Lamay (wake) on Friday, December 30, 2011 at 6:00 p.m., and a memorial service on Saturday, December 31 at 2:00 p.m. Both services will be held at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue.
