Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOAN PHYLIS GENIK August 23, 1946 - December 24, 2011 With deep sadness in our hearts we announce the sudden passing of our mother Joan Genik at the Seven Oaks Hospital. She was a greatly loved mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will lovingly be remembered by son Bradley (Kim), daughter Lori (Brent), and beloved grandchildren Daniel, Jami (Dylan), Branden (Carly), Kody, Braxton, Alexis, Matthew, Jeanette, Corrine; brother Larry (Cristian), along with her many friends and community members. Mom was born and raised in Fraserwood where she farmed and raised her children. Mom loved to cook and entertain; this love lead her to start her own catering business. She served many delicious meals for functions throughout the Interlake and surrounding areas. Joan was an active member of the Fraserwood Hall, until the time of her passing. Friday night she could be found behind the microphone calling bingo. Mom had many passions: gardening, crafting, decorating but her greatest passion was her grandchildren. Her laugh and sense of humour were contagious. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Louise for all the visits and support given to mom during her stay at Seven Oaks Hospital. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of mom's life will be held Monday, January 2, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., at the Fraserwood Hall, Hwy. 231 Fraserwood, MB with Father Isidore Dziadyk officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Fraserwood Hall. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE (204) 949 - 2200 Gimli (204) 642 - 7124 www.nbardal.mb.ca

We are very sorry for our loss. Joan did our daughter's reception dinner and she was a very nice lady. She will be sadly missed. - Posted by: Lou and Carolyn Riediger (customer) on: Jan 03, 2012

So saddened for the family, knew Joan from Fraserwood in the late 40's and early 50's, my parents used to live on the farm next door, used to run over and play with Joan whenever I could. My parents were Walter & Tena Oberton. Last visited with Joan I believe in the year 2000 when my husband and I made a trip to Wpg. and Fraserwood. Our sincere sympathies - Posted by: Anita McKinnon (nee Oberton) (Childhood Friend) on: Jan 02, 2012
