JAMES HULL February 28, 1929 - December 28, 2011 With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jim Hull on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Grace Hospital, at the age of 82. He will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by his wife of 48 years, Edna; sons Bruce (Lisa) and Kevin (Shannon); grandchildren Leah, Sarah and Riley; sisters Marian McCarthy (Don), Doris Tibbs; brother Wes (Lesley); nieces, nephews as well as many family members and friends. Jim was predeceased by his parents Hugh and Doris Hull, and his brother-in-law William Tibbs. Jim was born and raised in Winnipeg. He started his career with the Manitoba Government as a driver examiner in 1967. Jim retired in 1993 as a supervisor of driver education. Dad was happily involved in coaching and cheering on his sons' various sports activities through their childhoods. Dad led his family by example and throughout his life, he was actively involved in a variety of volunteer endeavours. After his retirement, Jim and Edna relocated to Gimli, Manitoba full time as Jim had been a seasonal resident of the Gimli/Sandy Hook area his entire life. Jim enjoyed his retirement years in Gimli and Sandy Hook where he made many new friends and was actively involved in his community, Church, Kiwanis and golf. Jim loved puttering at his cottage in Sandy Hook. He was happiest at his cottage surrounded by his family and friends. Jim was an avid reader who also loved sports and he was a great conversationalist. Pa was a wonderful and loving grandfather who was actively involved with his grandchildren. His grandchildren loved and adored their Pa and enjoyed all the fun times they had together. Jim's family would like to thank the staff of Seven Oaks Respiratory Rehab Clinic, and the staff of Grace Hospital, especially Dr. George and Dr. Joshua for their care of Jim. Flowers are gratefully declined.
