Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDIANA RITA BLAHNIK (nee DUCHARME) July 10, 1927 - December 27, 2011 It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Diana Blahnik on Tuesday December 27, 2011, at the St. Boniface Hospital. Known to many friends and family as Mama Bear, she will be lovingly remembered by her three sons, Wayne (Lynne), Frank (Diane), and Doug (Suzanne); grandchildren, Tricia (Michael), Tyler, (Stephanie), Deanna (Don), David (Tara), Jordan (Cari), Joe, and Sarah; and great-grandchildren, Braeden, Madison, Annika, Brielle, and Carmelo; as well as numerous relatives and friends. Diana was predeceased by her parents, Pete and Albertine Ducharme; her stepmother, Margaret, and her husband Edward (The Bear) Blahnik in 1998. Diana loved life, her family and friends. She enjoyed music and loved to sing and dance She was an excellent five pin bowler in her day and worked at The Bay downtown for 25 years after raising her boys. A Mass and celebration of Diana's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at Mary, Mother of the Church, 85 Kirkbridge Dr., Winnipeg. The family would like to acknowledge and thank the doctors and staff on 6E at St. Boniface Hospital and her homecare workers for their compassion and excellent care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200 - 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6. I remember the great times at your family's home during the 70s when Doug and his brothers played and sang and your Mom was so proud and so much fun and she just was so nice to all of us "young" people - great memories.
