Though too young to be a legal father to me, he certainly gave all the love and support a father can give. I retain wonderful memories of his planning of my wedding, the many trips he made to Alberta to visit us and the kind and loving support he gave to our Hazel in her final years. He made a wonderful Santa Claus and a Zellers Greeter because of his loving heart and friendly approach to all. Dad, you will be missed but we take solace in knowing where you are and that we will meet again. - Posted by: Joy Harper (Adopted daughter) on: Jan 09, 2012

I am so sorry for your loss. Uncle Jake was the most thoughtful of my Mom when your Uncle George passed away he alwas kept in touch and let us know how much he cared. My memories of him were his big smile and his laughter. Thinking of you all on this day and may God bless you in your time of need. Love to all Margaret - Posted by: Margaret Mosher (niece) on: Jan 05, 2012

I would speak for other nephews and nieces when I say that Uncle Jake was a favoured uncle. He made a point of maintaining an interest in our activities, and giving us positive feedback. He performed decades of hard physical farm labour and he reminded us of his superior physical strength throughout our teenage years and beyond. His open minded attitude, cheerful disposition, and inclusive mentality spoke volumes about his character. In later years he was a most caring and concerned brother to my mother, his sister, Susan. He was, simply put, a good man who will be greatly missed. Our hearfelt condolences to the family and to Anne who made his last years so happy and complete. - Posted by: Al / Sharon Nickel (Nephew) on: Jan 04, 2012
