Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I am trying to contact Uncle Herb’s family members. Aunt Pat has most likely passed now but perhaps Ken, Gary, or Jackie. I have many, many photos of Pat and Herb which I would like to pass on to the family. Richard Chapman (Pat’s sister Shirley’s son). • I have very many fond memories of my Uncle Herb. One that still makes me chuckle is when his older teacher-sister, Florence, let the "cat out of the bag" about his early slow start in school. His youngest son, Gary, was greatly amused and relieved by this, now that he was finally equipped with ammo for future assaults on his own academic performances! I always loved all of the Christmas or Easter dinners we shared in Winnipeg with many of the family members coming together. The food was plentiful and the conversation lively, and sometimes hard to get a word in edgewise! Aunt Pat and Uncle Herb hosted me for a number of summers at Victoria Beach. I was so impressed by Uncle Herb's swimming ability and how he could construct things to improve and enlarge the cottage. The Horrocks clan is reunited in Heaven now. It's probably not as quiet anymore...if they aren't having a celestial musical jam session, they are undoubtedly having a raucous discussion! Love always, Kathy. - Posted by: Kathryn Horrocks-Elkow (Niece) on: Jan 13, 2012
