Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHERINE GRAY (MISKOLCY) Peacefully on Wednesday, January 4, 2012, Mom passed away in the care and comfort of Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, Manitoba, with her family by her side. Katherine was born on October 22, 1914, she was raised and lived her life in the north part of Winnipeg. She graduated high school and went on to successfully complete business college. She worked in the family window cleaning business - Universal Window Cleaning - as the bookkeeper for many years. She married the love of her life, George Wilson Gray, on Easter Sunday, March 24, 1940. They are together again! She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Katie Miskolcy; her sisters, Elizabeth (Walter) Kowalski, Josephine (John) Zopf of Regina, Saskatchewan; her dearly beloved husband of 38 years, George (1978). She is survived by her children, Joan Armstrong (Frank), Richard (June); her five treasured grandchildren, Darrin (Tina) Fudali, Kimberley (Greg) Ewchuk, Cameron (Stephanie) Gray of Airdrie, Alberta, Jason Gray, Trevor (Jennie) Gray; and two very dear great-grandchildren, Colby and Ainsley of Airdrie, Alberta. Also, she is survived by one sister-in-law Jerry Gray, as well as many nieces and nephews. Mom enjoyed her home on Bannerman Avenue, especially her gardens and backyard sun house', she lived there well into her 90's. She was an avid and creative woman, her knitting projects are enjoyed by many to this day, she crafted petit point, needlepoint, knitted Afghans, sweaters, baby outfits, her crocheted linens are a beautiful art, and spent many hours doing puzzles. Her greatest joy was crafting needlepoint pictures for gifts and special occasions for her family and friends. Her home was a joy to visit and always welcoming! Her love of family was very strong and a wonderful family tradition was to meet for Sunday dinner. She moved to Concordia Village Retirement Residence in 2006, where she made good friends and loved her home care attendants, Sherrie and Mitzi especially. She moved to Middlechurch Personal Care Home in 2011 and was active until four days prior to her death. We are very thankful and grateful for the wonderful, caring staff of the Middlechurch Home. The families lasting memory is Christmas 2011, we enjoyed having her with us! She was alert, active and ate a great dinner! Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 9 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at Inkster. Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Darrin Fudali, Cameron, Jason and Trevor Gray, Greg Ewchuk; and her nephew Donald Kowalski.
