JACK ANDERSON Peacefully at home on January 5, 2012, at the age of 63, Jack passed away. By his side was his beloved wife Irene, granddaughter Sarah, and his faithful pet, Callie. He also leaves to mourn his son, Shaun; daughter, Charlene (Norm); granddaughters, Samantha, Vicki and Danielle; his mother, Lil; his brothers, Wayne (Nadine, Sasha, Kirby), Ken (Phyllis, Erin, Ashley); in-laws, Terry and Emile Lepage, Bob (Lucille), Paulette, Andre (Fran), Lorraine, Ed, Michelle (Randy), Dianne (Jo); and many nephews and nieces. Jack had many jobs but his career was with Winnipeg Transit for over 30 years. Throughout most of those years, he served as Recording Secretary for the A.T.U. Local 1505. He was very proud and honoured to do this. Jack was a volunteer for just about everything: parades, telethons, cribbage tournaments, fundraisers; you name it, he signed up for it. It was his nature to help as much as he could. He sold beer at the Winnipeg Arena for the Jets, stadium for the Bombers and any event there was. His main passion was the Jets. After retirement in 1999, Jack and Irene moved to Belair, vowing never to move back to the city. He would take pleasure in shocking people with his stories about the bears being in the yard or on the deck, peering in the windows. Even at the beach, Jack found new places to volunteer; Birchwood Crib Club, Grand Marais Family Festival, Wellness Coalition Project, even at the Walter Whyte School with the breakfast and lunch programs. Jack made friends wherever he went, he was a tease and a joker but always a loyal friend to all. He will be missed dearly. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice. Special thanks to Peter and Marilyn, Sharon and Sheila, and cousin Ron who was Jack's right hand man, the E.M.T.S., R.C.M.P., and all the staff at Pine Falls Hospital for their help and support. Viewing will take place on Tuesday, January 10, 2012, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. AND YES, JACK, THE JETS ARE BACK AND HERE TO STAY. I dont think there is enough room in this blog to write about Jack. What an amazing, kind, caring, devoted man. Jack and Irene are the 2 people in this world that would do anything for you. They remind me of my grandparents in a very big way. Jack i will miss you teasing us and your humor! There was never a dull moment when you were around, never. We will make sure that Sarah and Irene are looked after between all your family and friends. May you now rest in peace and have the best afterlife in heaven. - Posted by: Tara (Friend) on: Jan 09, 2012
