HALINA NIEMSZON (NEMSHON) (nee PIETRUS) Halina Niemszon passed away peacefully on January 2, 2012, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Halina, a twin was born in Siedliska, Poland on March 6, 1934, to Anastasia (Bilik) and Jacob Pietrus. The family moved to Canada in 1939, settling on a farm in Shorn Cliff, Manitoba, learning to speak English and the Canadian life. She at the age of 16 met Adam Niemszon and was married, July 1951. They moved to Arborg, Manitoba, living on the farm they owned. After only a few years, they moved to the Village of Brooklands, Manitoba, which is now part of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Halina worked for the Perth's drycleaners until she retired. She had three children, a daughter, Linda Barnes (Letkeman-Nemshon) (husband Bruce); and two sons, Fred Nemshon (wife Therese) and son Victor Nemshon; grandchildren, Gator Nemshon (wife Nina Fraise), Linda lee (Nemshon) Bonnet (husband Corey), Matthew Nemshon, Christina (Letkeman) Waterton (husband Brett), and Gordy Letkeman (fiancé Rachelle Cairns); step-grandchildren, Michelle Rivest and Brian Tupper; great-grandchildren, Angel (Fraise) Nemshon and Londyn Waterton. Halina was predeceased by her older brother, John Pietrus (1971); her father, Jacob Pietrus (1978); her mother, Anastasia (Bilik) Pietrus (1983); her grandson Jason Nemshon (1983) and her dear and extremely missed husband, Adam Niemszon (April 1999); and her twin brother, Serge Pietrus (2006). Funeral Service to be held on January 11, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street, with interment to follow. May she rest in peace and happiness where ever she may be?
