JEAN MCGEOCH SMITH (WATSON) -
Date of Passing: Dec 29, 2011
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN MCGEOCH SMITH (nee WATSON) 1923 - 2011 We lost my dear, sweet Mom on December 29, 2011 at the age of 88. Jean was predeceased by her husband Charles in 1993. She will be forever cherished by her daughter Doreen of Toronto. She will be sadly missed by her grand dog, Lola who Mom adored. Tragically, Doreen's life partner, Stewart Watkins joined Mom three days later. Jean was also predeceased by her parents Robert and Mary Watson, brother William Watson, and sisters Mary Woods and Anne Boyd. She is survived by nieces and nephews Jan Mclean, Robert Watson, Doug Boyd, Elinore Brown and Anne Woods and a large extended family. Mom was very creative and enjoyed her volunteering in the past. She loved being at Red Rock Lake, especially with Dad, tending her gardens and all the critters. Chipmunks were her favourite, bears not so much. Cremation and interment have taken place. Special thanks to friends Leone and Tom Durham and Marion Skinner for the exceptional care they provided Mom over the last few years. Donations to a charity of your choice may be made in Mom's name. Mom, I love and miss you with all my heart. Chapel Lawn www.chapellawn.mb.ca 885-9715

I will always remember Aunt Jean as a wonderfully warm, graceful and thoughtful person. As a young child, our families spent many happy hours together and Aunt Jean's beautiful, laughing presence made those times among my happiest memories. I'm so sorry that you have lost her, Doreen. I know how very close you were. She was a special person and your tribute to her is lovely. - Posted by: Karen Sadlier-Brown (Long time family friend) on: Jan 26, 2012

Who could not but love the chipmunks at RRL? And your mother & father kept them so plump and fed with peanuts in the shell, from the can under their favourite seat on the dock. It is your job now, and little Lola's job to defend her territory, too. - Posted by: Bill & Helen Christie (second cousin) on: Jan 21, 2012
