HAROLD C. WINGFIELD 1919 - 2012 Harold Wingfield was born in Vancouver on September 5, 1919. He was predeceased by his mother Marion Elizabeth, father William James, brother William James, stepbrothers Walter and James. He leaves to mourn his wife Betty, stepsister Jean, sons Colin (Judith), Ian (Alda), daughters Lorraine Montague (Ray), Darlene Brown (John), grandsons Chris (Tara), Geoffrey, Kieran (Karen), Sean, and granddaughter Alexandra Froese (Colin). Harold grew up and went to school in Plumas, Manitoba. He served in the R.C.A.F. from 1940 to 1944 where he served in the Commonwealth Air Training Plan. He worked as a tradesman on construction for a time until he finally settled as a tradesman at Canada Packers where he retired in 1980. He was a long time member of the St. Vital branch of the Royal Canadian Legion where he served in many offices including the Presidency. He was also a long time resident of St. Vital but in recent months has lived in Concordia Village in East Kildonan. Pallbearers are Chris Wingfield, Geoffrey Wingfield, Alexandra Froese, Colin Froese, Larry Hoffman and Joseph Pearn. A celebration of Harold's life will be held at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue (across from Brookside Cemetery) at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 15, 2012.
