LINDA RUTH DOWBENKO January 22, 1956 - January 10, 2012 Peacefully on Tuesday, January 10, Linda Dowbenko, beloved daughter of Lillian Dowbenko, passed away at St. Boniface Hospital. Linda was predeceased by her father Harry Dowbenko, brother Johnny, sister Sandy Dowbenko and brother-in-law Ira Beasley. Linda was greatly loved and will be sadly missed by her mother Lillian; sisters, Connie Chartier, Pat (Gil) Boyer, Margaret Beasley, Noreen Kanski; brother Dan Dowbenko, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family, friends and co-workers. Linda enjoyed life and lived life to the fullest. She had a deep love for family and friends and took special pleasure in spending time with her great nieces and nephews. Linda was a very dedicated employee and proud of her career and accomplishments with the federal government at Crown Assets. She had a very close relationship with the Crown Asset Team and considered them as her second family. Linda started her career with the federal government in 1990 as a clerical assistant and worked her way through various promotions, ending her career as the Acting Manager, CADC Manitoba. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Harding and the caring staff at CancerCare Manitoba and the wonderful compassionate staff in Palliative Care at St. Boniface Hospital. A memorial service will be held to celebrate Linda's life on Sunday, January 15 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg, MB. If friends so desire, donations can be made in lieu of flowers in Linda's memory to CancerCare Manitoba or a charity of their choosing. Cropo Funeral Chapel 586-8044

My Aunt...is someone who played a very huge part in my life and a role that nobody could ever take her place. The bond that was formed that can never be broken. my Auntie was someone special...especially to me and my children. I cannot fathom the reality that I will never be able to pick up the phone and hear her voice again. I love her so much. Our bond was special, we spent alot of time together..especially these past 2 yrs...and I thanked her so much for letting me being the person she confided in during the fight of her life. My sincere condolences to Linda's mother and family. Linda was everything a friend should be, I was always happy when I was with Linda and I always knew where I stood with her.
