Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT JOHN DAVIS January 30, 1953 - January 6, 2012 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our brother, Robert John Davis, on January 6, 2012. Robert was born on January 30, 1953 in Toronto. A military brat, he lived in many places. With the family settling down in Winnipeg , he started his life here. Robert grew up in the Elmwood area, making Chalmers Community Club his second home. He played all sports but enjoyed football, hockey and baseball the most. As a young adult, he coached at Chalmers and then with the East Side Eagles. He was a jack of all trades and a master of none. Robert loved working Security, starting out with Metropol in the early 1970s. In 1977 he joined the Royal Winnipeg Rifles but was released a couple of years later due to health problems. Robert was married three times and has two grown sons, Robert Jr. and Brent. Robert became a Mason in the Millennium Masonic Lodge #182 in early 2006. He always helped out the Khartum Shriners at the Circus every year. Robert was predeceased by his father Roy John Davis in 1990. Left to mourn his passing are his mother Frances Davis, his sister Sharon Hoel and her husband Bob, nephew Gary, brother Kevin Davis and his wife Teresa and nieces Alisha and Allison Hatt. Robert's many friends were lifelong friends; he was always willing to help them out even if he went without. Robert has always had health problems but they are gone now and he will no longer suffer, and we are grateful for this. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held later in the year. Please give to your favourite charity in his memory. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE (204) 949-2200 nbardal.mb.ca
