We have lost such a gentle, kind man. My heartfelt sympathy to all of the family. Uncle John had a smile that lit up his whole face and ALWAYS had a coffee or meal ready when we visited. He will be greatly missed. - Posted by: Judy Kuny (niece) on: Dec 04, 2012

Although we will miss him dearly Uncle John is in a better place and once again with Auntie Pearl. We were deeply saddened when we heard of uncle's passing and feel terrible that we were out of the country and unreachable. Even more upsetting was that when we did hear the news it was the day after the funeral. We hope our family in Winnipeg understands as to why we were unable to attend. Fortunately there are many, many good memories that can never be taken away. I am so glad that I was able to have uncle come and see Jacquie and myself at work on his last visit to Leduc and take a tour with us of the business since he was always a big RV enthusiast. We will always fondly remember many fishing / camping trips and countless campfire stories. We will always have nothing but love and respect in our minds and hearts every time we speak of and remember our Uncle John! - Posted by: Lorne & Jacquie (Nephew / Niece-in-Law) on: Feb 08, 2012

Saddened by the loss of a friend whom I've known for over 20 years being his taxman. John had time to share his family stories of times at fishing, camping and early work years. He is missed and may God reward him according to John's faith. Memories Eternal. - Posted by: Peter Rybuck (friend) on: Jan 24, 2012

We would like to extend our sincere sympathies to John's family. The last time we saw John was this past fall when he and his brother, Peter, came out to our cabin to go fishing. The two were sitting on the dock, with their fishing rods in the water, just enjoying the day. When we asked if they were catching anything--they said "no, but it really didn't matter" they said, "because it was more about just being there." We were so glad that John, and Peter, had such a nice time "fishing". - Posted by: Janet and Shane Labovich (Ralph Kuny's sister-/brother-in-law) on: Jan 22, 2012

Enjoyed breakfast and coffee at Windows Restaurant, Tim Hortons and Oakpoint Hwy Restaurant. He had more stories to tell than anyone I've ever met! We always had a fight over who would get to pay! We had a wonderful visit and time of prayer together Sunday afternoon (Jan 15): very peaceful and ready for whatever God had for him. Farewell John. - Posted by: Alan & Gloria Duncalfe (Pastor) on: Jan 19, 2012

It is hard to think of my childhood without seeing my uncle John in it. Camping and swimming was a big part and uncle John and auntie Pearl were a very big part of it.
