Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • When I saw her in the morning, I asked her, how are you Alice? She would smile and said oh, just fine. I am going to miss her and you too Marj. Sorry for your loss, but she went to a better place now. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. Sorry I am not able to go to the service today as I am on duty. Again condolences. - Posted by: Sharon Yoong (1 south unit nurse at WPM) on: Jan 26, 2012

  • Auntie Alice and Uncle Wallace always made an impact on me, because they always took the time to talk to us kids, ask us about how things were going, and remember to ask us about it the next time they saw us, because guess what??? they were listening to what we had to say, usually at the race track, and that always impressed me, because not many aunts and uncles take the time to really listen to young people, and care about what is going on in their lives. They even remembered my brother Gerry and his girlfriend dropping out to the Rosser farm and asked how they were doing. As a couple, they were such a good example of "coupleness", they did stuff together, they each played a part to make that partnership work..they dearly loved their children, and grandchildren..and as all parents...had their hearts broken at times, due to illness, and other evils that attack our precious loved ones. We do not need Superman and Spiderman and Wonder Woman, when we have superheroes like Alice and Wallace, to really show us how good people cope in tough times. Uncle Wallace went much too soon, and I know Auntie Alice missed him and it is good they are now able to square dance in heaven. Oh what a celebration when Auntie Alice finally went to the Pearly gates, everyone said, we thought you would never get here. Now let the party begin! I also recall some special family celebrations at their home, it was an honour to be included! This is the end of an era. May they rest in peace. Hope all the grandkids try to live up to the McDougall standards and never forget who they came from. - Posted by: Patsy Stockbrocks (niece) on: Jan 26, 2012

  • My sincere condolences on the passing of your mom and granny, my Auntie Alice. She was always a bright spot in any gathering. We as a family enjoyed many happy times together, in Rosser, at Barn dances and other family occasions. I remember her preparations for your 18th birthday party Marj. How exciting it all was. She always had a very engaging smile and seemed genuinely interested in how everyone was 'getting on'. I know the recent years were not so very happy, but I am sure that Auntie Alice appreciated everything that was done for her by her family and especially by you, Marj. My thoughts are with you all during this difficult time. - Posted by: Louise Graham (neice/cousin) on: Jan 25, 2012
