LORNE ELLIOTT ROSE With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Lorne Elliott Rose on January 19, 2012 at age 77. Lorne leaves to mourn his loving wife Louise; daughter Joanne Miller (Ron); stepson Jim Tesluk (Cheryl); two sisters, Eunice Girling and Marg Sopp (Dave); grandchildren, Christal and Danny Miller and Brennan Tesluk, whom he held a special place in his heart for. Also his sister-in-law Natalie and brother-in-law Gerry Cooper. Plus many nieces, friends and great neighbours. Lorne was predeceased by his first wife Marjorie; son Kerry; sister Alva; two brothers-in- law, John and Keith, and one nephew. Lorne was born to Elsie and Jack Rose in 1934 in Basswood, Manitoba. He later joined the Canadian Army travelling throughout Europe meeting his wife Marjorie while stationed in Germany. They married and started a new life in Winnipeg raising two children. Lorne worked for CP Rail for many years and after his wife passed away, he met Louise Tesluk whom he married in 1990. Together they were inseparable. Lorne retired from CP Rail in 1992 and enjoyed his new home in Selkirk and cabin in Grand Marais until his illness. Lorne was a strong man who never complained or indulged in self-pity. Even as his illness progressed, he always kept his optimism and still made plans for the future. A true gentleman; kind and caring until the very end. He will be dearly missed and remembered often. Respecting Lorne's wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. With heartfelt appreciation to all who cared for Lorne during his illness, doctors and staff of Selkirk and District General Hospital, the Home-Care team family, dear family, dear friends and our dear neighbours. Thank you all! God saw you getting tired When a cure was not to be. So He wrapped His arms around you, And whispered, Come unto Me . You didn't deserve what you went through, And so He gave you rest. God's garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best. And when we saw you sleeping, So peaceful and free from pain. We could not wish you to come back, to suffer that all again. If one wishes, a donation in Lorne's memory may be made to Selkirk and District General Hospital, Palliative Care, P.O. Box 5000, Selkirk, Manitoba R1A 2M2. • In tears I saw you sinking, I watched you fade away, You endured much in silence, You fought so hard to stay. You faced your mission with courage, Your spirit did not bend, But still you kept on fighting, until the very end. • The best thing I could wish for you is that you aren't in anymore pain. I feel empty inside now that you, Mom and Kerry are gone. But at least I know there won't be anymore suffering for you all.
