HENRY PETER PETERS 1940 - 2012 On January 18, 2012, after a short battle with cancer, Henry P. Peters passed away at the Concordia Hospital at the age of 71 years. Henry was born on the family farm near Winnipegosis on August 30, 1940 - seventh of nine children. He spent most of his life farming before moving to Winnipeg in 1986 where he worked for DeFehr and Palliser Furniture until his retirement in 2005. Since moving to Winnipeg Henry has attended Grant Memorial Baptist Church and enjoyed his time as an usher. Henry's passion was gardening and was known far and wide for his amazing flowers and knack for making plants grow. He will be sadly missed by his surviving family - two brothers, Paul, George (Myrtle), and three sisters, Neta (John Warkentin), Ruth (John Inglis), and Louise Kokot; brother-in-law Jake (Ruth Buhler); sister-in-law Gail Peters, and their families. He was predeceased by his father and mother Henry and Aganeta, brother Arthur, two sisters Helen Estelle and Anne Buhler, brother-in-law Skip Estelle, and his niece Michelle. Henry also leaves behind many friends whose lives were touched by his kind and gentle nature. Special thanks to the staff at Concordia Hospital who did their best to make him comfortable in his final days. A celebration of Henry's life will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 11:00 a.m. at Klassen Funeral Home. Viewing will be prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Grant Memorial Baptist Church (Senior's Ministry), 877 Wilkes Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3P 1B8 or CancerCare Manitoba, 1160-675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
