  • Clara shared with me her immigration to Canada, having met and married Canadian Soldier William Sr. in Scotland. She was one of the many war brides who came to Canada via boat, while expecting the first child, William Jr. she was very sick. I recall her relating how difficult it was to adapt to the Albertan Farm way of life and how she missed her Bonnie Scotland. Much later, she returned on a visit to Scotland with her oldest grandsons Jason & Colin while the Lord Selkirk Boy Scout Pipe Band was on tour. She enjoyed going down memory lane, also seeing some parts of Scotland for the first time. I fondly recall the joy and pride she radiated at the birth of all her grandchildren. She prayed for all her children and grandchildren, entrusting them into the perfect will of The God of the Bible. When Jason and Colin were younger, Clara and Bill Sr., would join us in the scenic drive up Henderson Highway to get some fresh vegetables in the late fall. These outings were very enjoyable. Christmas Day was when the Miles Family would come over and after opening gifts and eating too much, Clara and I would sit at the kitchen table and share about our faith in God, the God of the Bible. Clara was an overcomer, regardless of circumstances, and a true sister in The Lord. Prayers to the God of Comfort for the Miles Family at this time and always. Love you all! - Posted by: Carol L Miles (Jason & Colin Miles mother) on: Jan 22, 2012
