BEN VAN HOEK It is with great sympathy that the Van Hoek family announces the unexpected passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, son and brother on January 11, 2012. Ben was greatly loved and is sadly missed by his wife of 32 years, Sharron, his son Ben (Dallas), his daughter Colleen (Joe), his grandchildren, the apples of his eye, Madison, Olivia, Sophia, Evan and Emily; mother, Mary, brothers Pete (Betty), Johnny (Kim); his sister Sue (John), and extended family, friends and co-workers. Ben was predeceased by his father, Jan in 1993. Ben enjoyed life and lived life to the fullest. He had a deep love for family and friends and took great pleasure in spending time with his children and grandchildren (and sometimes his wife. lol) Ben was a very dedicated employee and was proud of his careers and accomplishments with Aboriginal Strategies Inc. He had a very close relationship with ASI and considered them his second family. At his request cremation has taken place and no services will be held. A remembrance lunch will be held on Friday, January 27, 2012, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Active Living Centre, Carman, Manitoba. Goodbye my family, my life has passed. I loved you all to the very last. Weep not for me, but courage take. Love each other, for my sake. For those you love don't go away. But walk beside you every day.
