KATHERINE ELIZABETH LUNDGREN (nee BILLSON) A Life Well Lived It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Katherine (Kay) Lundgren (nee Billson) on January 22, 2012, at the age of 96. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Herb, her parents John and Gertrude, brothers Harold and Victor Billson, sisters Ruth McCormick and Margaret Strand. Kay was born on the family farm near Inwood, Manitoba on March 31, 1915. She is survived by her son Brian (Pat) of Winnipeg, daughter Donna of Nepean, Ontario, grandchildren, Carl (Naomi) Lundgren, Cam (Felicia) Lundgren, Curt (Tricia) Lundgren, Graham (Sarah) Pascal, Caitlyn (Ariel) Pascal, D'Arcy (Brian) Pascal, and great-grandchildren Corbin, Ava and Kylie. Kay and Herb lived in the Kirkfield Park area for 50 years where Kay developed many friendships that lasted throughout the years. Kay had a big heart and was loved by all as a wonderful wife, mother, granny, sister, friend and neighbour. Kay was an accomplished seamstress and was also known for her beautiful knitted sweaters and embroidery work. She sincerely supported and kept up with all the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren and truly valued all these relationships. She was very grateful for all of the many efforts her kids made to show their love and affection. Lately, in Kay's declining health, these efforts were especially important to her. A special thanks goes out to all the 5th floor staff at Golden West Centennial Lodge. They gave Mom a quality of life in her last years that was truly appreciated. Cremation has taken place, and at Kay's request there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, a contribution in Kay's memory may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Dr., Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3, or Golden West Centennial Lodge, 811 School Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2Y 0S8. I had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Lundgren several years ago. I had coffee and dessert at a charming place in Manotick, Ont. with Donna and her Mom. She was a lovely lady. I send my condolences to all of her family and friends. Sincerely, Sue Maveety. Nepean, Ont. - Posted by: Sue Maveety (long-time friend of Donna Pascal) on: Jan 26, 2012
